San Francisco is one really nice, touristy city. It is very hard not to have a good time.
1. TAKE A PICTURE WITH THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE. Now, taking a picture with a Golden Gate bridge is tricky because it can disappear when the city gets foggy! The moment we arrived in San Francisco, we rode a hop on hop off bus at Union Square (to give us an overview of the city sights) and we could not resist taking a picture of the Golden Gate bridge!!

2. DRIVE AT LOMBARD ST. Dubbed the crookedest street in the world! when we arrived we took two drives along Lombard St, then our cousin dropped us down at the top of the hill, then we walked down lombard to take pictures. 🙂 Now, you see, Lombard st is a residential area, and you could actually see that these are actually real homes surrounding the area. Many home owners have been annoyed by the tourists and there is some movement to want to close the area.

3. FISHERMAN’S WHARF. This is like a tourist central. There are many waterfront sea food restaurants, arcades, shops, exhibitions in the wharf. We ate our lunch at Alitoto’s. Maybe you would want a taste of the sourdough? Check out the famous sea lions at Pier 39. Or, ride a cruise below Golden Gate. There are also ferries to Alcatraz Island.

4. HAVE Â A CLAM CHOWDER. This San Francisco favorite is creamy and delicious and there are many restaurants along the Fisherman’s Wharf to get it from.

5. CHECK OUT THE UNION SQUARE. What is there to do in union square? This is as “downtown” as it gets. There are department stores (like Macy’s) and other shops around the plaza (like Victoria’s Secret flagship, Apple store), restaurants, the hop on hop off buses stop here. There are many hotels around the area too. Then, the cable car station is near by… which gets us to number 6…

6. RIDE THE CABLE CAR. We took Powell and Hyde st Cable car Line, as highly recommended by many people. 🙂 It starts at the turnaround at Powell and Market St. (Now, really, you have to see how they manually turn around the cable car). This was near the union square, which is where we stayed at that time. We bought our tickets there . With the number of tourists in line, you will find it very hard to miss! The views during the are amazing, you get to see the San Francisco bay. Then you end up downhill at the Fisherman’s wharf!  I think the open seats are really good except at this time when it rained.

7. SEE THE PAINTED LADIES. This is a row of Victorian houses in San Francisco, across Alamo square park. It was a little off Union Square. But on the way there you get to experience a lot of the hills in San Francisco. Now why are they famous? Well they do look pretty. 🙂

8. EAT at IN-N-OUT. Find out what it’s all about. Yummy cheeseburger. Now, did I tell you about the animal fries? Only the yummiest fries ever. Available only in California.
9. PALACE OF FINE ARTS. A San Francisco architectural landmark. Nice place, but also there is a wedding going on while we were there. Not a cheap place to have a wedding, by the way.

10. SEE GOOGLEPLEX. Now, Google headquarters is not touristy, and it is a drive away from the city of San Francisco, but it is really cool, almost like a play ground. Check out how Google takes care of its employees. This discovery still makes a good story,
