Do you plan to go to HongKong disneyland? Do it on your next long weekend! Here’s how I made a weekender trip truly Disney. 🙂
Stay in a Disneyland resort hotel
I wanted an intense Disney experience so I wanted to be in the Mickey Mouse hotel. There are 2 options: 1) Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and 2) Disney’s Hollywood Hotel. The Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel is a more elegantly-themed hotel, and a bit pricier. The Disney’s Hollywood hotel is more mainstream, modern themed. Anyway, the Hollywood Hotel was cheaper by 2000 php so we chose it. But it is expensive relative to other possible options, like maybe staying inside Hong Kong, and if you are on a tight budget, the Disneyland resort is very accessible by the Metro station. (Like there’s a metro station infront the gate). For the latest rates and offers, visit their website: https://www.hongkongdisneyland.com/hotels/disneys-hollywood-hotel/

From the airport to Disneyland Resort
We arrived in Hong Kong airport Saturday afternoon. I was about to purchase Airport Train tickets to the city, when the lady advised me to take one of the Lantau taxis instead. (Since the train tickets are not cheap, and since I’m paying for 4 people, I could save more with the taxi). The green taxis all lead to Lantau island which is where Disneyland resort is found.
From Disneyland resort to the city
Take note that Lantau island is actually a bit of a distance from the Hongkong city proper. We checked in Disney’s Hollywood Hotel. There are no restaurants/ anything around the hotel there’s just trees and trees. We wanted to have our dinner inside the city center. To do that, we rode the free shuttle from the Hollywood hotel to Disneyland. Then, once we reached disneyland, we walked a little to the MRT station. We rode the MRT to the city where we walked around and had our dinner.

The morning after…
Breakfast at Chef Mickey Restaurant. We woke up early and had our buffet breakfast at the Chef Mickey Restaurant, which came in with our hotel room.We were even able to take pictures with Mickey Mouse! I took some Mickey Mouse pancakes, which look better than they tasted. The bacon is also very salty, maybe so you won’t take a lot. 🙂 The food, isn’t fantastic really, I think it is the ambience you pay for.
We also went around the Disney’s Hollywood hotel area and took pictures since Disneyland does not open until after 1030 am. There is a sea view at the back. They have a piano shaped pool but it was closed when we went there.

After that, we checked out the hotel and left our bags at the concierge. We then rode the free shuttle to Hong Kong Disneyland, and spent the entire day there.

The following are some of the rides we went to:
Right: Train at HongKong disneyland railroad. Easy way to get around Disneyland too, rather than walk. 🙂 Middle, top: Toy Story Parachute drop ride, really fun! Middle bottom: Big Grizzly Mountain runaway mine cars. Right (and my favorite ride): Space Mountain! Really cool.

At around 4-5 pm, We caught a little of the Disneyland parade, but we had to leave the park! We headed for our hotel to claim our bags, then took the taxi to Lantau airport.
We had to catch our flight back to Manila. We had a nice time!
